Victoria, 12th February 2009 – The eagerly awaited YellowPages.sc, the first and official Online Business Directory for the Seychelles Islands, is now live. The announcement was made by iMedia (Seychelles) Limited, the local company contracted to publish and supply the printed Seychelles Telephone Directory and which now also manages the new Online Business Directory.
YellowPages.sc will complement the printed Seychelles Telephone Directory by providing a new platform for businesses in Seychelles to advertise their products and services to a local and global audience.
In addition to the existing business contact details available in the printed Yellow Pages, the new website will feature a range of additional information, giving local businesses the opportunity to describe their services, provide directions to their business locations, make possible the ability to download a brochure or a vCard and view a promotional video, display screenshots of their website and active link, alongside other useful information such as their opening hours and payment methods.
Another great advantage of YellowPages.sc is the fact that it is always up to date. Unlike the printed directory that is published on an annual basis, the Online Directory will be updated on a daily basis, giving new start-up businesses an immediate online presence whilst awaiting entry into the next edition of the Seychelles Telephone Directory.
“Although it has taken longer than planned to materialize, we our proud to be launching a professional and world-class product for the people of Seychelles. Our Online Directory is as advanced as the ones being used in many developed countries including Singapore, Australia & New Zealand. YellowPages.sc is not only an informative and user-friendly website but a powerful marketing tool that local companies can take advantage of to promote their services locally and globally. We have a wide range of affordable listing and advertising options to suit all local businesses,” said Mr. Gilbert Lebon, the Managing Director of iMedia (Seychelles) Ltd & the VCS Group.
The website was developed by local web development company, Switch (Pty) Ltd, the same company developing the new Air Seychelles website. The Marketing Manager of the Switch & the VCS Group, Mr. Hervé Chang-Yunn said, “Although YellowPages.sc is fully operational, we shall continue improving the site by adding new exciting features to maximise the users’ experience and enhance the advertisers’ visibility. For example, we plan to include a job search facility where businesses can pay to run their vacancy adverts. The great benefit of advertising on YellowPages.sc is that businesses can better measure the effectiveness of their advert by the number of times it appears on the website and the how many times users click on it. Ultimately, we want YellowPages.sc to contain a library of comprehensive information on all businesses in the Seychelles Islands.”
“On behalf of iMedia, I take this opportunity to thank all businesses that have advertised in YellowPages.sc and look forward to welcoming others in the future,” concluded Mr. Lebon.
