15th October 2008 - iMedia (Seychelles) Limited, the local company contracted to publish and supply the Seychelles Telephone Directory has released its second edition of the Directory for the period 2008-2009. This is in line with its initial commitment to ensure that Seychelles benefits from a professional and up-to-date annual telephone directory.
According to iMedia, the new edition is not only more comprehensive but features a variety of improvements based on recommendations from the public on its first edition.
“We have focused on improving ease of use by firstly combining all business and residential listings in alphabetical order in the White Pages section. We have also placed the Government, White Pages and Yellow Pages sections close together for easier access. Secondly, the font sizes and line spacing have been increased to improve legibility. Thirdly, we have reformatted the Yellow Pages section to cater for a wider range of advert sizes and business categories. In addition, we have made it possible for businesses to advertise in full colour in the Yellow Pages for the very first time.” said Mr. Gilbert Lebon, Managing Director of iMedia.
“Overall, the new directory has a better look and feel and the feedback from the advertisers and telephone service providers has been very positive. It is very important to satisfy our customers and improve our service in producing what has become the No. 1 annual marketing tool in Seychelles. We also hope that members of the public will benefit from these significant improvements,” added Mr. Lebon.
“We wish to thank Airtel, Cable & Wireless (Seychelles) Ltd., and Intelvision for their continued support and cooperation to permit this achievement. We also wish to thank all businesses that have contributed to the success of this new edition through their various advertisements and look forward to welcoming others in the future,” concluded Mr. Lebon.
In the meantime, Mr. Hervé Chang-Yunn, Marketing Manager for iMedia confirmed that the new online telephone directory (YellowPages.sc) will be available by the beginning of November 2008.
“We are confident that our new local web development team, Switch (Pty) Ltd, will deliver the initial phase of the site on time. Whilst, YellowPages.sc will compliment the printed version, it will provide all existing businesses in Seychelles with a new additional platform to advertise their products and services to a much wider global audience. It will also enable new start-up businesses to have an immediate online presence whilst awaiting entry for the next edition to be printed,” said Mr. Chang-Yunn.
“Through the site, businesses will have the opportunity to provide more information to their potential customers such as description of their services, opening hours, payment methods, directions to their business location as well as the ability to download a brochure and view a promotional video. The objective is to enable members of the public to make a more informed decision.” added Mr. Chang-Yunn.
Finally, iMedia hopes that its new directory will serve its purpose and offer valuable information to the local community as well as to visitors. Its goal is to continue improving on this edition and it looks forward to receiving feedback from the public.
Fixed line customers can now collect their free copy from their respective telephone service providers’ customer service centres. Businesses and members of the public who wish to buy extra copies of the directory can do so at SR 25 per copy at the iMedia Office, VCS Building, Le Chantier in Victoria, or at the Antigone Bookshops in Victoria House and the Seychelles International Airport at Pointe Larue.
